Dear Parents and Swimmers,

The Club has exclusive use of the wet side changing, toilet and shower facilities during weekday mornings until 8:15am; this is for the use of swimmers attending those sessions only. Members and/or parents should not be using these facilities during these times as this will raises potential for a Safeguarding and Protecting Children issue.

The ASA guidance for parents entering changing rooms is as follows:

“Ensure parents are aware they should not be in the changing room whilst the swimmers are changing, unless their child is of an age where help is required from parents or the swimmer requires additional specific assistance. This is generally at an age that is stipulated by the pool hirer, usually 7 or 8 years of age. In such circumstances the parent must be the same gender as the child, unless the facility has family changing facilities or is a mixed changing village.”

If Members and/or parents require the use of changing, toilet or shower facilities during these times they should use the dry side changing rooms and toilets available elsewhere within the facility. After 8:15 am the wet side changing rooms are open to the general public and the club recommends that swimmers should exit the changing rooms prior to this time to avoid any potential issues.
