The Club this week has congratulated their Competitiive Squad swimmers Lee Shepherd and Libby Kerry for passing the ASA Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualifications.

Libby, 16, Girls Club Captain, has been swimming with the Club since she was 9 years old and has competed at Kent Championships over the years. She is excited to have achieved the Swim Teacher qualification and enjoys helping other children to develop this lifelong skill.

Lee, 16, currently our Vice Club Captain, has had an amazing journey with DLGC, starting swimming on the Learn to Swim scheme when he was 6 years old, and joined the Competitive Squad, age 7 years old. Lee and his talent went from strength to strength, qualifying to compete at Kent Championships 8 years in a row, SE Regional Championships 5 years in a row and reaching National Championships in 2015! This is all in addition to breaking a few Club Records and fulfilling the role of Club Captain on the way.  Lee, who excited for his future career, always has a smile on his face and enthusiasm abounds

Both Lee and Libby have been volunteering their his time to help others learn to swim and support their Club swimmers at galas.

What an inspiration they are to young swimmers, demonstrating a great pathway and progression within DLGC, for those with a love for the water.
